Kaaren's Blog

"The simplest change a person can make to really improve their well being is to stick to the produce section when you're grocery shopping. Fruits and Vegetables have most of the nutrients your body needs to be healthy in their naturally occurring form, free of synthetic chemical compounds a human body isn't meant to ingest."

Jin Shin Jyutsu®:

"Take Your Health Into Your Own Hands"

True health begins with understanding how to balance body, mind and spirit with your individual ever changing needs. This involves developing self awareness of how your daily habits and choices effect the quality of your life. By utilizing appropriate food choices, exercise and simple natural self care tools, you can begin to literally take your health into your own hands.

The ancient oriental healing art of Jin Shin Jyutsu® activates our innate ability to heal naturally. The following is a small sampling of some of the tools Jin Shin Jyustu® can provide.

Jin Shin Jyutsu® Natural Self Care Tips

The flows of life force that run through our bodies have been mapped for over 5,000 years by the traditional oriental healing arts. These flows provide life giving energy to every cell, bone, muscle, organ & tissue in your body. When these pathways become blocked, various disharmonies can arise. When the flows are open, health and well-being are experienced.

One way these flows can be positively affected are by gently holding individual fingers on each hand for a few minutes. Our hands are like "jumper cables" re-charging whatever they touch. Whenever we hold an individual finger, we begin to balance and harmonize over 14,000 functions in the human body.

You can literally take your health into your own hands by holding each of your fingers for a few minutes daily, and this can be done anywhere at anytime. As follows is a brief description of how each of our fingers can help us...

THUMB harmonizes:

Fatigue and is a general energizer/pick-me-up for the skin surface, our nerves, digestion (esp. acidity).

The attitudes of: worry/rumination/depression

INDEX finger harmonizes:

The back, teeth/gums/dental work (great during dental procedures), elimination, the muscle system, circulation of body fluids

The attitudes of: fear/self criticism/perfectionism

MIDDLE finger harmonizes:

Eyes, frontal headaches, blood functions, tendons and ligaments and interpersonal relationships, a general harmonizer for both the emotions and all body functions

The attitudes of: anger/frustration/irritability/indecision

RING finger harmonizes:

Lung and all respiratory functions, skin conditions, mucous conditions, ears

The attitudes of: negativity/sadness/ grief/ allows us to let go

LITTLE finger harmonizes:

The heart, skeletal system, central nervous system, fluid retention

The attitudes of: trying to/labeling/judgement/denial/pretense/"pushing the flow of Life"

Main Central Vertical Flow (quick version)

The Main Central Vertical 'quickie" version that follows is a total balancer that keeps us aligned with the Source of all Life and feeds every function in our body. The best results are experienced by using this tool both morning and night.

Hold the top center area of your head with your right finger tips or hand and put the left hand/fingertips on your pubic bone. Maintain this until you either feel a rhythmic pulsation under both hands or you feel a sense of relaxation. This may take a few minutes especially at first. Then, still holding the top of your head with your right hand, move your left hand to your tailbone and hold until you feel the pulse or relaxation.

Personally I feel that the MCV is the foundation of daily ‘basic energy hygiene.’ Just like brushing our teeth morning and evening I find that the MCV energizes me in the morning and clears and relaxes me at night.
